YSCC Players of the Week for fall week 2

(YSCC) -- All fall sports are in action, so a full slate of YSCC Player of the Week awards to be handed out. 

SOFTBALL
Emily Lashua | Southern Maine CC | FR | OF/C

First-year Emily Lashua recorded a .714 AVG (5-7) at the plate in her first collegiate doubleheader. Lashua recorded 2 RBI, 2 stolen bases, and walked once as the Lady SeaWolves split with the defending YSCC Champion Lynx to begin the fall 1-1.

BASEBALL
Dylan Francoeur | Southern Maine CC | SO | P/1B

Sophomore Dylan Francoeur went 4-7 from the plate with 3 RBI and two runs to go along with 5.0 IP of 2-hit baseball as the SeaWolves shutout NHTI in a weekend doubleheader 7-0 and 9-0.

MEN'S X-COUNTRY
Matthew Kelly | Vermont Technical College | SO

Kelly Ran first for team and conference at our first home meet Sept 8th. Matt has shown marked improvement over his last years time and performance in training and his first race.

WOMEN'S X-COUNTRY
Emma Labadie | Vermont Technical College | SO

Emma finished first place on our women's team running a solid race for her first collegiate cross country race. Her time of 25:38 help her team finish 3rd of 7 schools at our first meet of the year.

MEN'S SOCCER
Hanssen Casey | Southern Maine CC | SO | D

Sophomore Hanssen Casey scored a header goal on the road at Vermont Technical College on Sunday, September 9 in an eventual 1-1 draw to begin conference play. Casey controls the midfield with a physical presence, able to defend and join the attack.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Morgan Doughty University of Maine Machias | FR | Midfielder

Morgan Doughty of University of Maine Machias is the USCAA Women's Division II Soccer Player of the Week. Morgan leads the Clippers in shots for the season, averaging over 3 SOG per game. This week she scored four goals in three games and had two assists as well. So far Morgan has proved to have a calm presence about her on the pitch helping to elevate the entire team.
