YSCC crowns 2019 Bowling Champions

(YSCC) -- The 2019 Yankee Small College Conference Bowling Tournament crowned new champions at NHTI last Saturday. 36 men and 27 women bowled for the chance to become YSCC Champions.

In the women's division, the top four women advanced to the roll-offs. They were in order of finish Kalei Fenn (Paul Smith) 589, Abby Cowan (Paul Smith) 495, Kate Springsteen (NHTI) 454, and Laura McCarty 398.
Kalei Fenn defeated Laura McCarty 176-167 and Abby Cowan defeated Kate Springsteen 182-143 for third place.

In the Championships women's match, Kalei Fenn defeated Abby Cowan 217-143. This is the third YSCC title for Fenn.

On the men's side, Nick Ferrara (Paul Smith) 619, Ben McInerney (Paul Smith) 594, Harrison Heist (Vermont Tech) 578, and Tyler Couture (Vermont Tech) 557.

Ferrara defeated Tyler Couture in the first match 226-146. In the other match, Harrison Heist defeated Ben McInerney 162-154.

In the men's championship match, Ferrara defeated Heist 153-147 to become men's champion. Ben McInerney placed third and Tyler Couture placed fourth.

For the overall team competition, we had six teams participating at the Merrimack Ten Pin in Merrimack, NH.

In the first round of the single elimination event, Pauls Smith's Team 1 beat Unity Team 2 to win the overall team championship. Vermont Tech Team 4 defeated NHTI Team 3 for third place finish.
