Game 2: Loss 18-1

In Game two, the Mustangs couldn't keep pace with the Wildcats and fell 18-1.

Brooke Gero started for the Mustangs, pitching one inning and surrendering seven runs (four earned) and six hits, striking out two and walking two. Olivia Scott, who started Game 1, came into the game in the second. The reliever allowed 14 hits and 11 runs, while striking out four and walking three.

Olivia Gallan, Miah Gallan, and Olivia Scott each collected a hit for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs committed four errors.

Alyssa Kreischer earned the win for the Wildcats.

Mustangs Head Coach Bruce Robertson stated, "It was a tale of two totally different games and teams. Game one is how I know this team can play and should be playing, but game two is a reflection of how we have been playing. In Game 1, we committed no errors and hit the ball hard. In Game 2, we committed four errors and struggled to hit, showing impatience at the plate with grounders and pop-outs. Unfortunately, when we make errors and get down, we can't dig ourselves out. Limiting errors leads to wins or close games for us. It's something we've been preaching since day one. Silly errors create big moments for the other teams, and it hurts us. On a bright side, it was nice to split with the number 10 ranked team in the nation as it reflects that we are better than our record shows. We have a couple of games left in the season, and I'm hopeful we finish the season strong!"

The Mustangs travel to SMCC on Wednesday for a 3:30/5:30 doubleheader.
