CONCORD, N.H.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) softball team swept the Lynx of NHTI on the road to open Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) scheduling on Saturday, Apr. 13.

Game 1: W, 7-0 (5 innings)

The Seawolves worked a strong start, scoring four runs in the first inning and adding three more in the second.

First-year captain Delanie Perry (DeLand, Fl.) continues to turn heads, as she went 3-3 with a double and an RBI.

The one-sided affair showcased both SMCC's offensive firepower and pitching prowess. Rookie Maddie Webb (Trenton, Ohio) racked up three RBIs while righty starter Sarah Wilkins (Alberta, Canada) pitched a gem, allowing only one hit and striking out 12 batters in five innings of work.

Game 2: W, 18-1 (5 innings)

The Seawolves again pushed runners across in the opening frame, and continued to build on their lead throughout.

First-year Veronica Mercier (Bangor, Maine) was the star of this one going a perfect 5 for 5 at the plate with 5 RBIs, including a home run. First-year Kassidy Barrett (Windsor, Maine) swung it well going 4 for 5 with 3 RBIs.

From the circle, SMCC starter Jaida Case (Machias, Maine) notched the victory spreading four hits over five innings, to go along with four strikeouts.

SMCC remains unbeaten this spring and improves to 10-2 overall, 2-0 YSCC.
