Henniker, NH: Thursday the Men's basketball team traveled to Hennicker, NH to take on the Pilgrims of New England College. The Knights commited 26 turnovers as they fell 77-61 in the non conference battle.
New England College led by as much as 18 in the first half, going into halftime with a 43-27 lead. In the second half, the Knights rallied, using a 13-2 run capped off with a three-pointer from freshman guard Tristen Armas with 15:56 to go in the game to pull to within seven. Both teams fought to build momentum from that point onward. The visitors were within nine with 4:37 to go when NEC finally put it away with a 10-2 run, the last three of those points coming from freshman point guard Kamden Ayers. The Pilgrims snapped their eight-game losing streak.
Coach Hughes' Statement
"We have some things to clean up before Saturday or it's going to be a long weekend. It's hard to win a game when you commit 26 turnovers. I have confidence that we will learn and hopefully rebound on Saturday on the road."
The Knights have back to back conference games this weekend at Paul Smiths and at home against Albany Pharmacy.
