Mustangs Drop Contest to SMCC in Overtime

Auburn, ME - The second meeting of the season for these in-state rivals saw another tight contest, this one going into the second overtime before it would be decided.   Like the previous matchup, it would take 30 minutes before the scoreboard would light up, and Michaela Desjardins put the Seawolves up 1-0 in the only score of the first half.   Midway through the second half, Hannah Champagne on an assist by Sarah Kenneson tied it up for the Mustangs.   With less than 2 minutes to go in the second overtime period, Brittany Carver would score for Southern Maine allowing the Seawolves to walk off with the 2-1 win.   Maggie McConkey stopped 10 of 12 shots for the Mustangs.   Central Maine will close out their season at home against UMaine Machias on Saturday Oct 12.
