Huskies Pounce on Knights in Season Opener

Pottersville, NY – The Men's soccer team opened their season Saturday with a bang as they took down the Vermont State-Randolph Knights 8-0 in a dominating performance. The Huskies started off quickly as Joseph Mathews scored the 1st goal of the season in the 8th minute and Alexi Marshall scored 51 seconds later in the 9th minute to take a 2-0 lead early. Word of Life would add goals from Jonny Moynihan, Cyleek Zaimoff, and Dakota Stimson to make it 5-0 before the half.

The Second half was more of the same as the Huskies added 3 more goals in the game. Mathews added his second goal with a Penalty Kick Goal in the 53rd Minute. The other 2 goals were scored by David Singer and Benjamin Schneider to complete the 8-0 route of the Knights. Calem Mason also played a huge part in the game logging in 3 assists in the game.

The Huskies' next game is scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, vs. North Country Community College at 7:00 PM for the Men at the Huskies Soccer Complex.
