Huskies Lose Close Game

Albany, NY - - The Word of Life Huskies traveled nearby Albany to take on the Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences in a non-conference USCAA Matchup. The Huskies are off to a tough start to the year with a 2-8 record while the Panthers entered the game 7-3 and ranked 15th in the USCAA Poll released Wednesday Morning.

It was a back-and-forth game and the Huskies were able to keep up with the Panthers. Travis Shearin had himself a night scoring 25 points while going 8-14 from 3-point land. Shearin also recorded 9 rebounds. Branden Dugger also scored 10 points and racked up 5 assists, while Joseph Mathews scored 10 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 assists. Unfortunately, this would not be enough as the Panthers were able to stretch the lead to 12 halfway through the 2nd half and would not let it go. The Huskies would trim it down to 4 with under 4 minutes remaining, but the Panthers settled in and took the win by the final score of 64-56.

The Huskies are next in action on Tuesday, December 12th at the Huskies Health and Athletic Center at 7 pm against Bryant & Stratton College-Albany.
