Lady Seawolves earn 3-1 result over NHTI

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's volleyball team secured another Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) victory at home with a 3-1 result over the Lynx from NHTI on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

The first set featured a thrilling 29-27 victory for the home team; but the second set saw NHTI bounce back to even the score. Both the third and fourth sets were closely won by SMCC to stay undefeated at home.

Looking at individual performances, junior captain Rachel Pardi (Portland, Maine) and sophomore Anna White (Buxton, Maine) combined for nine kills, and first-year Patrice Broughton (Hartford, Conn.) totaled the highest score for the Seawolves with eight kills and 13 points. As a team, SMCC totaled 14 services aces and 13 blocks.

The Lady Seawolves improve to 3-1 overall, 2-1 in conference action. They get back to work on Wednesday, Sept. 20 in a home match with Great Bay Community College. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at The HUB.
