Mustangs Drop Pair on the Road

Game 1 L 4-0

The Mustangs drop game 1 of a doubleheader to UMF, 4-0. The Mustangs were strong in the circle with Olivia Scott getting the start. Scott went the complete game striking out seven and walking three while only allowing two earned runs scored. UMF scored two runs in the 4th and two runs in the 6th.
Sam Withee went 2-3 for the Mustangs with Logan Arsenault, Kiera Greene, and Allee Wellman each collecting hits as well.
The Mustangs committed five errors in game one.
Carleigh Schievink got the win for the Beavers

Game 2 L 8-0

The Mustangs struggle carried into Game 2. Lauryn Wood got the start but struggled in the circle allowing six hits and five runs in the first inning. Brooke Gero came in the second inning going the rest of the game allowing ten hits and three walks while striking out 3. Gero did have a scary moment taking a line drive to the shin in the 5th inning. She was able to shake it off and finish the game.
Sam Withee stayed strong at the plate going 2-3 with one double. Olivia Scott, Lauryn Wood, and Allee Wellman each added hits as well.
The Mustangs committed two errors in game two.
Melissa Mayo got the win for the Beavers.
Mustangs Head Coach Bruce Robertson stated it's been a month since our last game which was during spring break and it showed. We struggled with timing at the plate while errors kept plaguing us. It feels like we plug the hole in the dam and another leak springs. We just have to find a way to limit errors and the wins will come. We have a bunch of games coming these 2 weeks so we will see how things come together.
