Mustangs Knock Off Seawolves

Auburn, ME - The CM Softball Team knock off the Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College Friday Afternoon in a double header.

Game 1: Mustangs W, 13-2 (5 innings)

The Mustangs started game one with Olivia Scott (Quispamsis, Canada) who allowed 3 hits, collecting 7 strike outs and walking 1 batter with only 2 runners to crossing the plate picking up her second win.

The Mustangs bats collect 12 hits with 4 of them being home runs in game 1. The Mustangs were paced by Olivia Gallon (S. Paris, ME) who had a home run and 4 RBI's she was followed by Sarah Poli (Benton, ME) who hit her first college home run. Mckenna Ridlon (Hartford, ME) joined the hit parade as she collected 3 hits with 1 also being her first college home run as well. She was followed by Riley McNamara (Manchester, NH) who blasted a home run of her own being her first college home run. Alyvia Perrault (Dixfield, ME) had 2 hits as well both being doubles and adding 2 RBI's. Paige Ouellette (Auburn, NH) added 2 hits 1 being a double and then adding 2 stolen bases.

Game 1 saw the Mustangs commit 1 error.

Erica Hill picked up the loss for the Seawolves.

Game 2: Mustangs W, 14-6 (5 innings)

In game 2, the Mustangs turned to Riley McNamara (Manchester, NH) to make her first college start and pick up the win. McNamara went a 4 innings allowing 8 hits, 6 runs with 3 strike outs. Elyse Guptill (Porter, Me) came in and pitched the 5th inning allowing 2 hits but no runs and closed out the gam

Game 2 saw the Mustangs grab another 8 hits. The Mustangs were paced by Paige Ouellette (Auburn, NH) who had 2 hits one being a double an RBI and 2 more stolen bases. Emily Sanfacon (Lebanon, ME) added a home run and 3 RBI's while Alyvia Perrault (Dixfield, ME) had her 2nd home run in as many weeks as she nailed one last week at SM. Olivia Gallon (S. Paris, ME) added a triple while Elyse Guptill and Olivia Scott each added doubles. Giana Russo (Lisbon, ME) added a hit and 2 RBI's.

Game 2 saw the Mustangs commit no errors in the game.

Erica Hill again picked up the loss for the Seawolves.

After the game Head Coach Bruce Robertson, commented, "It was great to finally have our first fall home game. We have really put a focus on hitting this year an its paying off. We have scored 56 runs in 4 games and hope to not slow down. Olivia Scott has really stepped up to the challenge this year being our sole returning pitcher. Our 2 incoming pitchers Elyse and Riley have both brought solid pitching for us while adjusting to the college game speed."

Next up the Mustangs travel to Northern Vermont-Johnson on Sunday Sept. 25 for 3 games with 11 am/1pm and 3pm game times.
