Great Bay CC Herons Can't Hold Up Against Southern Maine CC

Game 1-

The Great Bay Herons took an early lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first Joshua Saurman drove in one run when he singled.

The game was tied at four with SMCC batting in the top of the seventh when Chabot singled off of Trevor Salema, driving in one run. GBCC lost the lead late in a 6-4 defeat to Southern Maine CC on Friday.

Great Bay CC had seven hits in the game. Christian Dow, Saurman, and Jose Santiago each collected multiple hits for GBCC. Santiago, Saurman, Jay Rodriguez, and Dow each drove in one run to lead GBCC.

Southern Maine CC collected ten hits. Chambers and Herrin each collected multiple hits. Chambers led SMCC with two runs batted in. He went 3-for-3 on the day.

 

Game 2-

Friday was a long day for Herons Baseball, as it fell to Southern Maine CC 15-2 in their second game of their double-header.

SMCC took an early lead in the first inning. Herrin singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, GBCC tied things up at one when Josh Saurman singled with two outs in the first inning.

Southern Maine CC took the lead for good with one run in the third inning.

The Seawolves scored seven runs in the fourth inning. This big inning was driven by a home run by Cyr, a single by Chambers, a double by Chabot, a single by Francouer, and a walk by Leeman.

SMCC's Adams homered in the second and fifth innings, Cyr homered in the fourth inning, and Francouer homered in the fifth inning.

Saurman led The Herons with one run batted in. He went 2-for-3 on the day.

Southern Maine CC had 12 hits in the game. Francouer, Chambers, Herrin, and Adams each collected multiple hits for Southern Maine CC. Adams went 2-for-3 at the plate as he led the team with five runs batted in.
