Mustangs Fall Against Wolverines

Auburn, ME (CMCC) - The Mustangs opened the exibition season yesterday hosting Bridgton Academy at the cozy Auburn Suburban Complex. In the first inning, Bridgton Academy got their offense started when Justin Wardwell led the game off with a solo homer after working the count full. The Wolverines took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning.

Micah Migciorini grounded out, scoring one run, Connor Kircy singled on a 1-0 count, scoring another run, and Joey Barret singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring a run. The Mustangs mustered a final push on the offense in the bottom of the fifth inning before BA's offense exploded in the sixth inning. Bridgton Academy scored nine runs in the sixth inning. Camren King, Kircy, Barret, Jake Rainess, James Dolan, and Kircy all drove in runs in the frame.

Ryan Brown was the winning pitcher for Bridgton Academy. He surrendered two runs on six hits over three and a third innings, striking out five and walking zero. Nik Tormans took the loss for CM. He lasted one and one-third innings, allowing four hits and four runs while walking one. Dalton Wing started the game for the Mustangs. He allowed four hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.  

Central Maine racked up ten hits. Eric Hoogterp, Nick Powers, and Jordi Valls all collected multiple hits for the Mustangs. Hoogterp led the Mustangs with three hits in three at bats while driving in five runs in the loss. He began the night with back to back two run homers to get the Mustangs out front and added a single in the fifth to end the night three for three. 

Bridgton Academy had 16 hits in the game. Kircy, Barret, Wardwell, Dolan, and Rainess all managed multiple hits for Bridgton Academy. Kircy went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Bridgton Academy in hits.
