CMCC Men Defeated in OT

AUBURN, Maine (CMCC) – After a stellar performance at Navy Prep Monday, the Mustangs returned home to host the University of Maine at Presque Isle Wednesday and played one of its worst halves of the year losing in overtime 74-71.

The squad came out firing on all cylinders in the first half and took a commanding 41-30 lead into halftime. Josh CoteKaleb BenjaminAkeem Laurie, and Rob Skinner all hit from deep to provide a 11-point cushion.

As the second half began, UMPI began to chip away at the lead finally tying the game with 5 minutes remaining. In the last few minutes, Coach Gonyea was constantly rotating players trying to find some answers, but the boys simply could not get it done.

To add insult to injury, Pietro Badalassi went down in the first half with an ankle injury and did not play again.

The squad looks to rebound this weekend as they travel to the College of St Joe's and Vermont Tech.
