CMCC outlasts valiant UMaine Machias effort

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (YSCC) -- The Central Maine Community College Mustangs moved on to face rival SMCC Seawolves by beating the UMaine Machias 76-59.
In a game that was much closer than the outcome, the Mustang's Rob Skinner dominated from start to finish.
The teams went back and forth most of the first half until about five minutes left when Skinner took over.
Traling by two, Skinner had a steal and then the next 13 points for CM. He also had two steals and a couple of rebounds in that stretch. Skinners heroics led the Mustangs to a 42-31 halftime lead.
Foul trouble plagued the Clippers the rest of the way. Two high points for the Clippers were Travonne Thompson and Nicolas Bradbury.
Thompson, battling a leg injury, finished the game with 8 points, 22 rebounds, and seven assists.
Bradbury knocked down five 3-pointers to finish with 15 points. Big man Jessie Gray hauled in 17 rebounds for the Clippers.
Skinner did have some help as Akeem Laurie had 12 points and Kaleb Benjamin 10 in the win.
CMCC moves on to face rival SMCC Saturday in the nightcap at 6PM.
