A Team Effort Fuels SeaWolves On The Road

ALBANY, N.Y.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team defeated the Panthers of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences 82-69 in a non-conference showdown to advance to 4-1 overall on Saturday, Nov. 10.

The SeaWolves clung to a 44-39 advantage at the break despite Albany's team 45.8 percent from the floor and 50.0 percent from three. SMCC would manage foul trouble and outscore the opponent by eight in the second half to cruise to a 13-point victory.

Four of the five SMCC starters filled up the score sheet with double figures—leading the way was senior captain Ryan Cloutier (Pelham, N.H.) with 19 points and nine rebounds on 8-15 shooting. Sophomore Jacobee Burpee(Manchester, N.H.) dropped a season-high 15 points (14 in the second) with four assists, and senior Atencio Martin(Kittery, Maine) totaled 13 points, sinking four from three-point territory.

Sophomore Sean Bowering (Englewood, Colo.) came off the bench to spot up for two threes while first-year Ian Regan (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) grabbed a career best six boards.

Albany's Naythan Beltran led his team with 24 points on 8-13 from the floor in 29 minutes of work.
