SMCC Dominates Behind Provencher’s Career Night

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's basketball team dominated in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) win 114-29 over the Black Sheep from Hampshire College at The HUB on Friday, Jan. 25.

The SeaWolves limited their opponent to just 14 in the first half and 15 in the second to improve upon a 61.4 points-allowed average—the best of any conference program.

All contributed to the score sheet in SMCC's largest spread of the season led by sophomore Seth Provencher's (Seabrook, N.H.) monster double-double—21 points and 17 rebounds in 19 minutes of action. The big man connected on 10-12 from the floor and added a three-pointer for good measure, his first of his career. Sophomore Sean Bowering (Englewood, Colo.) used three-pointers to finish with a season-high 13 points and senior forward Matthew Kenna (Titusville, Fl.) scored eight and added eight dimes.

Hampshire guards Forel Kourouma and Brandon Mercer both went for eight points and combined for four steals.
