CMCC Men's Soccer improves to 2-0, defeats VTC

Randolph, VT (CMCC) - The Mustangs headed out to Vermont Technical College for their second conference game, ultimately conquering a physical VTC squad. The game was entertaining to watch with most of the battling being held in the possessive third of the field. CM played consistent throughout the game possessing the ball, resulting in neither team finding the back of the net in the first half.

Motivated, the Mustangs came out strong and it paid off in the 50th minute. CM freshman, Alex Alden (Poland, ME), played a beautifully paced ball to freshman, Brian Mendez (New Haven, CT), who netted his third goal in two games. CM wasn't done there though. Inspired by his teammates success, freshman, Seth Peaslee (Rumford, ME), received a ball from sophomore, Abdullahi Daud (Lewiston, ME), in the 75th minute, touching it past the keeper and netting another for the Mustangs. Despite a shining performance  from freshman, Adolphe Bouanga (New Haven, CT), the CM defense let up a penalty kick in the 87th Minute, VTC took advantage of the opportunity netting VTC's only goal.

After the game, Head Coach, Bryan Wallace, commented, "Our overall play was very impressive we just have to work on finishing the game mentally and physically disciplined. The schedule certainly does not get any easier, and we have to be ready to go this coming week."

The Mustangs are back in action on Wednesday, September 12th, when they travel to South Portland to take on the Seawolves of Southern Maine Community College.
