UMA men and women compete in Maine State Championships

BRUNSWICK, ME (UMA) – UMA cross country traveled to Bowdoin for the 2nd year in a row to run in the Maine State Invitational. Maine States has become one of the largest collegiate cross country meets during the season in Maine and this year Bowdoin hosted 18 schools including 6 out of state DIII schools.

UMA men's cross country finished just ahead of CMCC in the state rankings with Sam Gerken leading the Moose in the 8K race in the time 33:41 averaging 6:46.6 pace through the men's race.

UMA women's cross country finished just ahead of Thomas college in the state rankings with Shauna Riordan leading the Moose in the 6K race in the time of 29:03 averaging 7:47 pace through the women's race.

UMA had six women compete in Maine States and look to return for the second Bowdoin Invitational to race the 5K on October 13th.
