Lady Wolves Remain Perfect in January

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team earned its fourth straight win in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) 79-24 rout of the Rams from Unity College on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

The SeaWolves limited the opposition to single-digits in the later three quarters with the bench contributing a combined 53 points on the offensive end.

First-year Lauryn Fagan (Standish, Maine) capped her biggest performance of the season with her first career double-double at 16 points and 15 rebounds—this earning her SeaWolf of the Game honors. Sophomore transfer Andrianna White (Lisbon, Maine) also notched a double-double in her first game wearing blue and white, 10 points and 13 boards. Sophomore co-captain Alicia Ruth (Plaistow, N.H.) finished with 12 points, all by way of the long-ball and four of the team's nine from three.

Unity's Samantha Jalkowski led her team with 14 points, Lisa Cebula with 13 rebounds—both playing all 40 minutes.

SMCC improves to 9-2 in league action, 13-5 overall. The Rams slip to 1-9 overall.

The Lady Wolves turn their attention to the Knights from Berkeley College (NY) who come to town for a non-conference game on Saturday, Jan. 20. The SeaWolves are winners of three straight against the Knights who have played to a 4-6 mark this season. Tune into SeaWolves LIVE TV to follow the action.
