Lady Mustangs win first conference road game

AUGUSTA, Maine (CMCC) -- An unrelenting effort in the first 10-minutes led the Mustangs to a 27-9 lead after the first quarter, and it was smooth sailing from there. CM put up at least 20 points in each quarter on their way to a 87-48 rout of the University of Maine at Augusta. The first quarter set the tone for the rest of the game, as CM shot a scorching 75% from the floor (12-16) including 2-3 from beyond the arc.

Eleven of the fourteen Mustangs played at least 10-minutes, with 12 finding the scoring column, but it was Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) who really set the pace. Reynolds finished with a game-high and season-high 20 points on 9-12 shooting (75%) to go along with 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Jordyn Reynolds (Poland, ME) was the only other starter to reach double figures, finishing with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals.

The Mustang bench tallied 43 points and were led by Sierra Wallace (Phippsburg, ME) with 10 points and Kasie Maloney (Concord, NH) who finished with 8 points 4 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals.

The UMA Moose were led by Caitlin LaFountain who scored 14 points.

With the in CM improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). They will be back in action on Thursday, for another road game, when they travel to Unity College to take on the Rams in another YSCC match-up.
