Lady Wolves Buck Rams 77-23

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team rolled the Rams from Unity College 77-23 in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) tilt at the HUB on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

All but one SeaWolf found their way into the scoresheet topped by junior Nyakuoth Mach's (Des Moines, Iowa) 18. Other notable performances featured first-year Bailey Cloutier's (Vassalboro, Maine) nine points and six boards, and sophomore captain Abigail Ramirez's (Methuen, Mass.) eight points and six steals.

SMCC posted double figures in all four quarters while holding the opposition to single digits. The SeaWolves collected 51 points off Ram turnovers and 21 second chance points—much to do with a season-high 34 offensive rebounds. The SeaWolves assisted on 21 of their 29 buckets.

Unity's Samantha Jalkowski led her team with 17 points and four steals, Lisa Cebula totaled 11 rebounds.

The result keeps SMCC perfect at 6-0 overall, 2-0 YSCC; the Rams fall to 1-4 in conference action.

The action continues when the Lady Wolves hit the road to take on Hampshire College in another YSCC showdown on Saturday, Nov. 17. Tip-off from Amherst, Mass. is scheduled for 1 p.m.
