Mustangs win YSCC Women's Championship 71-52 over SMCC

AUBURN, Maine (YSCC) -- The Central Maine Community College Mustangs are YSCC Women's Champions once again.

The Mustangs put the hammer down all game long to beat their main rival Southern Maine Community College Seawolves 71-52.

The Mustangs came out blazing in the first half, paced by YSCC First Team All-Conference player Brooke Reynolds with 10 points on 4 for 5 shooting.

CMCC's stifling defense held the Seawolves to under 15% shooting in the half.

The second half more of the same as the Mustangs pressure was just too much for the Seawolves.

Reynolds finished with 24 points and 17 rebounds. YSCC Second Team All-Conference player Alex Bessey finished with 13 points for the Mustangs.

YSCC Player of the Year Amanda Brett played tough all game long, finishing with a game-high 26 points.

Both teams will be heading to the USCAA National Tournament in Uniontown, Pennsylvania in March.

CMCC will be the #2 seed and SMCC will hold down the #8 seed.

Congratulations to all for an amazing 2018-19 season.
