Lady Mustangs ground Falcons, advance to USCAA National Semifinal

Uniontown, PA (CMCC) - It did not take long for CM to find their footing Monday afternoon, as they raced out to a 19-6 first quarter lead and never looked back. The relentless tempo and pressure defense continually overwhelmed Davis (NY), forcing 22 turnovers and a 22% field goal percentage.

Brooke Reynolds (Poland, ME) dominated play. In just 24-minutes, she tallied 24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Alex Bessey (Jay, ME) proved her newly anointed All-American status, with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jordyn Reynolds (Poland, ME) and Ahna McCusker(Barrington, NH) each chipped in with 10 points, combining for 13 rebounds. 

All 13 Lady Mustangs made it on the floor, with 9 of them finding the scoring column and 12 of them pulling down at least 1 rebounds. Rebecca Davila (El Paso, TX) pulled down 6 rebounds while dishing out 3 assists with 0 turnovers. Although only scoring 2 points, Natalie Thurber (Wells, ME) was relentless on the defensive end, causing havoc throughout her 17-minutes of action.

The CMCC bench out-scored the Davis College bench, 23-2, while overall, the Mustangs out-rebounded the Falcons, 65-42.

With the win, the Lady Mustangs advance to the national semifinal for the 3rd consecutive year. They will take on the #3 seed and PSUAC Regular Season and Tournament Champion, Penn State Lehigh Valley. The game is scheduled for 1:00pm. To watch online, go to basketball.theuscaa.com.
