NHTI's Michaella Biron nets her 1000th collegiate point

CONCORD, NH (NHTI/YSCC) – Big week for NHTI's Michaella Biron. Earlier this week, Biron took home YSCC and USCAA DII Women's Basketball Player of the Week awards. Tuesday night, Biron reached a huge personal milestone.

Biron, a native of Colebrook, New Hampshire netted her 1000 th collegiate point on Wednesday as the NHTI Lynx fell to the Bristol CC Bayhawks 98-81.

Biron, a two sport athlete, has averaged 19.3 points and 7.1 rebounds a game over her three-season basketball career. This season, Biron is averaging 23.3 points a game which is good for fourth in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) and second in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC).

Biron secured the 1000th point at the free-throw line with 1:45 on the clock in the second quarter. Overall Biron tallied 26 points (9-24 FG, 2-10 3-FG, 6-6 FT) four rebounds, three assists and a pair of blocks in the contest. Mary Grzanna (Sunapee, NH) contributed 14 points (5-18 FG, 3-9 3-FG, 1-4 FT), 15 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Olivia Langevin (Epsom, NH) added 13 points (4-11 FG, 0-3 3-FG, 5-7 FT), 12 rebounds, and seven assists. The Lynx shot 31.8% (27-85) from the field, 22% (9-41) from three and 62.1% from the free-throw line in the loss.
