NHTI Women's Soccer Earn Third Straight YSCC Title

CONCORD, N.H. – The NHTI women's soccer team edged Southern Maine CC, 2-0 to secure their third consecutive Yankee Small College Conference title Sunday afternoon. 

NHTI wasted no time getting on the board with a goal 37 seconds in by Offensive Player of the Tournament Maura Hart (Fitzwilliam, N.H.). Hart added another goal in the 60th minute to secure the win for the Lynx.

Southern Maine had chances to get themselves back in the game but NHTI goalie Tess Witmer (Warner, N.H.) saved 4 shots to record a shutout.

NHTI's Madison Parrott (Alstead, N.H.) was named tournament MVP and SMCC's Sophia Zidow (Scarborough, Maine) earned Defensive Player of the Tournament.

NHTI will head to Virginia Beach a week from Thursday to compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's national championship tournament. Times to be determined.
