BOSTON, Mass.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's basketball team collected its first win of the season with a dominate 67-29 result at Roxbury Community College (NJCAA) at the Reggie Lewis Center on Thursday, Nov. 14.

It too was Head Coach Rachele Burns' first victory with the Seawolves. In a game that featured a SMCC 26-0 second quarter, Burns commented, "This team is improving every time we take the floor in competition dates this season, and as a new team, those are steps in the right direction. We're seeing different players make marks in all phases of the game— today we put our defense first. The plan is to continue the momentum in our first conference game on Saturday."

SMCC gets to 1-2 on the year; Roxbury remains winless at 0-2.

The Lady Seawolves will open Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) scheduling when they host the Panthers from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences inside the HUB Athletics Building on Saturday, Nov. 16. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
