AUGUSTA, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team took another from the University of Maine at Augusta in convincing fashion, 8-1, in the regular season finale on Sunday, Oct. 15.

The SMCC offense was in top form, consistently putting pressure inside the opposition's defensive third. First-years Ronan Anderson (Parsonsfield, Maine) and Carsen Cyr (Madawaska, Maine) contributing significantly to their team's victory. Anderson scored two goals, while Cyr netted two goals and provided an assist. Their partnership proved to be a formidable force that UMA struggled to contain.

First-year Josiah Irish (Gorham, Maine) added two goals, his 9th and 10th of the season, with the help of Cyr's assist.

SMCC registered a total of 38 shots compared to UMA's four; the opposition's goal keeper made 15 saves.

The Seawolves climb to 10-2-1 overall and will enter the Yankee Small College Conference playoffs as the #2 seed. SMCC is awarded the bye and will play the winner of #3 Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences vs. #6 UMA in the semifinal round on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Albany, N.Y.
