WOMEN TAKE DOWN THE KNIGHTS 5 - 1

(Augusta, ME) The UMA Moose women's soccer team faced off against the Vermont State University Randolph Knights on Saturday, October 7 at Gardiner Area High School Hoch Field. The game, originally scheduled to be played at the Moose home field, was moved to a turf surface due to the amount of rain that was forecasted to fall during the afternoon. The Moose quickly adjusted to the conditions and went on the attack scoring the first 4 goals of the game. Gabby Allen would finish the day with a hat trick scoring the first three goals (16:07), (41:34), and (46:43). Bryannah Shea would pick up her second in conference goal (55:39) to bring the Moose to a 4-0 lead. Vermont State University Randolph's Kallista Tyler would score the teams only goal off a corner kick that deflected off a defender (82:59). The Moose would seal the win with Ashley Beaubien's first goal of the season (86:12). Lena Mua would finish with 2 assists along with an assist by Eran Dowd and Gabby Allen. The Moose look to head into the post season holding down the 6th spot in conference standings which would currently bring a quarterfinal match-up against Albany.
