Lynx Subdue Mustangs Despite David's 30 Point Outburst

Concord, NH – Despite a 30-point performance from captain Corey David, the Mustangs could not get over the hump and dropped an 81-74 game at NHTI Saturday.

A 16-16 contest was blown open when the Lynx went on a 31-11 run to end the first half.  Shooting 10-12 from the three-point arc, NHTI rode the back of Donovan Rodriguez who finished with a game high of 27 points.  The halftime score was 47-27.

Coach Dave Gonyea responded, "I wasn't sure what to say at halftime.  When a team shoots 62% from mid-range and 10-18 at the half from long range, its tough to play through that.   I thought we played pretty good "D" and contested shots, but the first half really put us in a hole.   However, we came out the second half and hit shots and took a 24-point game and turned it into a 7-point game.  As the game went down the stretch, the Lynx hit 23-26 from the free throw line which made difference."

Along with David's 30 points, Malik Farley registered 7 points and 7 rebounds.  DeMarco Mckissic added 12 points and 10 rebounds.
