SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine – The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) women's soccer team hosted in-state rivals Central Maine Community College (CMCC) in their final regular season game of the year on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The Mustangs would strike first, in the 24th minute, when Destiny Mooers capitalized on a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The Seawolves evened the score in the 39th minute when junior captain Jordyn Hulsey (South Portland, Maine) fired a left-footed shot on a delivery from sophomore Jocelyn Civiello (Sanford, Maine). The score would be 1-1 going into halftime.

It was Hulsey once again getting in and behind the CMCC defense on a threaded ball from sophomore Jadyn Eastman (South Berwick, Maine), scoring her second goal of the game to put the home team ahead for the first time in the contest. With five minutes to go, the Mustangs were able to capitalize on a loose ball in the box courtesy of Katie Blouin. Neither squad was able to break the stalemate before time expired.

The Mustangs totaled 20 shots, 14 on target. The Seawolves would accumulate 14 shots, with 11 landing on frame.

CMCC's goalkeeper Emma Knowles collected 9 saves; SMCC's goalkeeping duo of Grayson Soldati (Portland, Maine) and Aubrey Gilbert (Farmingdale, Maine) combined for 11 saves.

The Seawolves finish the regular season with a 6-3-3 overall record, 3-1-3 in Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) play.
