(Augusta, ME) The UMA Moose women's soccer team hosted the CCRI Knights on Saturday, September 23, 2023 where they would pick up their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory. The Moose knew it was just a matter of time as they have played well against some other top teams in the conference. Captain Sammy Thorton said, "Holding SMCC to a 0-0 tie for a half was a win, but to finally finish a win on the scoreboard is a big boost to us all." The Moose were led by Gabby Allen who connected on two goals (42:53 - 1st) and (66:20 - 2nd), Hope Lovell locked it down for the win in net and Lorelei Zoulamis led the defensive attack with a number of fantastic plays. Munzing Media named both Gabby Allen and Lorelei Zoulamis players of the game. Great team win by the Moose! The next game is scheduled against Hampshire on Sunday, October 1, 2023 with a 1pm kickoff at CARA Field in Augusta.
