
ALBANY, N.Y. – Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Women's Basketball powered past Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences with a decisive 66-36 win in YSCC play on Saturday afternoon.
SUMMARY
The Seawolves were led by Halle Tripp (Searsmont, Maine), who racked up 19 points, including five three-pointers and three steals. Ashley Mullen (Oakland, Maine) added 12 points and six rebounds, while Taylor Renna (Pembroke, N.H.) tallied 10 points off the bench.
SMCC led the game from the start, controlling the paint with 32 points over Albany's 18. The Seawolves forced 21 turnovers, converting them into 20 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SMCC's defense in the first quarter held Albany to 10% shooting whilst building an 11-4 lead. The Seawolves extended their advantage in the second quarter, fueled by Tripp's perimeter shooting and rebounding efforts from Jade Trueman (Sanbornville, N.H.), who finished with six points and seven boards.
Albany showed signs of life in the third quarter, but SMCC closed out the game strong with a 19-point fourth quarter.

The Seawolves (8-7, 6-3 YSCC) will host their next game at The HUB Athletics Center on Wednesday, January 22 (Faculty Appreciation Night). Tip-off is set for 5 PM.
