YSCC student/athletes take home three USCAA awards

(YSCC) — Big week for student athletes in the Yankee Small College Conference. Thre YSCC student/athletes won USCAA DII Player of the Week awards. 

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Samantha Belardo | Central Maine Community College | JR | F

Samantha Belardo of Central Maine Community College is the YSCC and USCAA Women's Division II Soccer Player of the Week. Belardo played in three games and scored three goals in 10 minutes to lead her team to a come-from-behind win over Vermont Tech. Along with her hat trick, she was able to assist with two other goals in their games. The team is now 4-6 on the season.

Madison Lima | NHTI | GK

Madison Lima of NHTI is the USCAA Women's Division II Soccer Goalie of the Week. Lima played in two games this week, having 11 saves and 2 shutout wins. She helped her team to a great win against their rivals, Southern Maine Community College. The team is 3-1 on the season.

MEN'S SOCCER

Suab Nur | Central Maine Community College | FR | F

Suab Nur supplied four of the Mustangs' eight goals against conference opponents Paul Smith's College and Vermont Technical College. Nur now leads the Yankee Small College Conference in both goals and points

VOLLEYBALL

Bailey Fairbank | NHTI | FR | 

Bailey Fairbank had quite the week for the NHTI Lynx, taking home the YSCC POTW and the USCAA DII Volleyball Player of the Week. Fairbank averaged 10.25 digs per set with 40 plus digs in each match this week. She also had a career-high nine service aces in the 3-1 victory over SMCC. Fairbank also registered 19 kills and four blocks in the three matches.

GOLF

Robbie Creteau | Great Bay CC 

Robbie Creteau from Rochester, NH, played exceptionally well at a very wet and challenging course, posting a low season score of 76. His efforts helped propel the Herons to a first-place finish at the SMCC Invitational.
