Men’s Soccer Picks Up Road Win

AMHERST, Mass.—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team took down Hampshire College 8-1 in a Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) match on Sunday, Oct. 3.

Three different SeaWolves scored in the first half featuring sophomore Eriksen Shea (Freeport, Maine), first-year Isreal Perez (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic), and sophomore Caleb Arsenault (Freeport, Maine).

First-years Anthony Nixon (South Portland, Maine) and David Wilson (Merrimac, Maine) joined in in the second half before Shea scored his league-leading 10th and 11th goals of the season. First-year Sam Kirkpatrick (West Bath, Maine) added to the frenzy with his first of the year.

First-year Joshua Nagle (Biddeford, Maine) recorded two saves to help his team to a second straight win.

SMCC improves to 5-6-1 overall and 4-1 in YSCC action; Hampshire remains winless at 0-4.

The SeaWolves will lineup for a pivotal conference match at Central Maine Community College on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Kickoff in Auburn is set for 7:00 p.m.
