Seawolves defeat Bridgton in 8-inning affair

BRIDGTON, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team took care of the Wolverines at Bridgon Academy 7-2 on Thursday, Sept. 14.

The Seawolves started strong scoring in each of the first three innings. Bridgton struggled to get on the scoreboard, only managing to score one run in the fourth inning. SMCC added another run in the fifth and sixth innings, while the Wolverines scored their second and final run in the seventh inning.

First-year Peter Keblinsky (Ellsworth, Maine) put together a stand-out performance, going 4-for-5 at the plate with one RBI. First-year Ethan Orsini (Peru, Mass.) was 2-for-3 from the dish with three RBIs. First-year Dylan Michaelson (Florissant, Mo.) contributed to the team's victory with a home run and one RBI.

SMCC starter Hayden Rose tossed three scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out two batters. First-years Leudys Castillo (Estero, Fl.), Nolan Hoffler (North Darmouth, Mass.), Blake Peeples (Windham, Maine), and Max Noto (Wentzville, Mo.) all came on in relief appearances.

The Seawolves continue their perfect start to the fall at 3-0 and will play host to Bunker Hill Community College in non-conference doubleheader action on Sunday, Sept. 17.
