Portsmouth, NH - Brett Hunt went 2-4 with two triples and three RBI to lead the Mustangs to a convincing 23-6 win over the Great Bay Herons. The Mustangs had 11 hits including doubles from Rolando Rodriguez and Evan Eldridge. Wyatt Lufkin also had two hits and four RBI. Pete McCluskey picked up the win in relief. He went three innings and had seven strikeouts. Will Bean pitched the first two innings and Rhen Trinidade pitched the last inning.
"I was proud of our effort despite the miserable conditions," said head coach Ryan Palmer. "This was probably the coldest baseball game ive ever been a part of. I'm very happy for Brett Hunt. He is the ultimate teammate and had a great game tonight."
The Mustangs are back on the road on Friday as they travel to South Portland to take on rival SMCC at 3:30.
