SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine-- The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team took down the Hawks from York County Community College (YCCC) 13-7 to complete the fall series sweep on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

In the first inning, YCCC took an early lead scratching across a run. The Hawks extended their lead in the second inning, scoring three more. However, the home team fought back in the bottom of the third, posting four runs to even the score. The Seawolves continued their momentum in the fourth, driving in two more runs to take the lead.

SMCC pitching held the opposition off the scoreboard for the remainder, while the offense recorded a big 7-run inning in the seventh to secure the victory.

Sophomore Gabe Aucoin (Bath, Maine) came on in relief to pitch 1.1 innings and collect the win.

Notable performances at the plate included Brady O'Lone's (Fort Myers, Fl.) two hits and two RBIs; first-year Quinn Dillon (Gorham, Maine) tallied three RBIs.

The Seawolves conclude their fall season with exhibition doubleheaders at Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Sunday, Oct. 8 and at the University of Maine at Farmington on Monday, Oct. 9.
