SeaWolves Suffer Shutout To Northern Essex

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team was shutout at Graves Athletic Field 19-0 against NJCAA-powerhouse Northern Essex Community College (NECC) on Tuesday, April 5.

Northern Essex did all of its damage in the second, third, and fourth innings connecting for 19 hits to include five doubles. The SeaWolves' offense was stifled to just two hits coming off the bats of first-years Sam Keblinsky (Ellsworth, Maine) and Emerson Tucholski (Westlake, Ohio).

NECC's Dallas Vaughan went the distance to notch the complete game win allowing two hits and one walk over four strikeouts. SMCC first-year Jack Falvo (East Hartford, Conn.) was charged the loss---both Alex Walker (Dalton, Mass.) and Liam Milne (Medfield, Mass.) appeared in relief.

SMCC slips to a 14-6 mark; NECC extends its win streak to 11 and improves to 19-2 overall.

Next, the SeaWolves will travel to the Community College of Rhode Island to complete their season series with the Knights on Sunday, April 10. The scheduled doubleheader will begin at 12:00 p.m.
