BUFFALO, NY – A thunderous jam in the waning moments of the first half put an exclamation point on a dominating half and game, as the Bryant & Stratton Buffalo Bobcats, led by sophomore Eric Waters who was responsible for those fireworks, bounced back with a 100-75 victory on Sunday over Vermont Tech to close out the Bobcat Bash.
The Bobcats (2-2) erupted for 61 points in the first half, marking the highest scoring half since Jan. 30th of last season when they scored 64 in the second half against Clarkson. Sophomore Sam Dorissaint scored a game, and season-high 29 points and Waters added 22 and 11 rebounds. Buffalo shot 51.4 percent from the floor and was a perfect 12-of-12 at the free throw line.
No two points in the game were more emphatic than the two Waters scored with 3:06 left in the first half. The sophomore took a pass from Davon Ware on the left sideline past mid-court, took two dribbles and took off from the left hash, ferociously finishing with one hand over a Vermont Tech defender. Dorissaint then put his own jam down, beating the first half buzzer with a fastbreak one hand finish.
