SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team earned its first Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) win on Saturday, Sept. 18., taking down the Knights from Vermont Technical College 7-0.

The SeaWolves made quick work getting up 4-0 inside 15 minutes with goals from the captains Dylan Weyeneth (St. Agatha, Maine) and David Wilson (Merrimac, Mass.); and then two off the foot of first-year forward Eriksen Shea (Freeport, Maine). SMCC put another away before the first half expired—this one by junior Cameron Babcock (Gardiner, Maine).

Tyler Regula netted his first of the season on a long-ball strike in the 61st minute before first-year Anthony Perron (South Portland, Maine) piled on another on a ball from Shea.

SMCC goalkeepers Joshua Nagle (Biddeford, Maine) and Zachary Beaumont split time and recorded four total saves.

SMCC climbs to 2-1-0 overall, 1-0-0 in league play. VTC slips to 0-4-1 on the season, 0-2 YSCC.
