Nationally ranked CCRI stymies Mustangs

Warwick, RI - On the back end of a road, weekend double-header, the Mustangs ran into a buzz saw, falling to CCRI 64-49. The Knights raced out to 25-points in the first quarter, and despite the Mustangs best efforts to cut the lead to single digits in the 4th, it was enough to hold off the CM charge.

Emily Strachan (Lewiston, ME) led the Mustangs with 8 points, while Kali Thompson (Waterville, ME) and Safena Te Nana-Williams (Auckland, NZ) each contributed 7 points. Destiny Mora Lopez (The Dalles, OR) and Ja'Naia Moran (Boynton Beach, FL) played well off the bench.

With the loss, the Mustangs fall to 9-2 on the year. They will be back in action on Tuesday, when they host Southern Maine Community College at 6:00pm.
