SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team dropped its third straight in a 4-2 loss to the Mustangs from Central Maine Community College (CMCC) on Thursday, Sept. 16.

CMCC jumped on the scoreboard first after a free kick attempt found its way by sophomore keeper Joshua Nagle (Biddeford, Maine) in the 39th minute. Sophomore Eriksen Shea (Freeport, Maine) answered the call in the early goings of the first half with his first of the year before CMCC regained the lead three minutes later. SMCC's Laszlo Dorogi (West Boylston, Mass.) continued the back-and-forth with a goal off a set piece delivery from captain David Wilson (Merrimac, Mass.) to again even the score.

CMCC's Suab Nur and Mohamen Matan both took advantage of scoring opportunities in the final 20 minutes of play to secure the road win for the Mustangs.

SMCC sports a 1-4 overall record; CMCC gets to 2-1 on the year.

The SeaWolves open their Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) schedule on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they welcome the Knights from Vermont Technical College in a matinee kickoff beginning at 3:00 p.m.
