Chery, Farley Rally Mustangs to Win

Auburn, ME – Josh Chery and Mailk Farley combined for 46 points Saturday to lead the Mustangs to an 81-72 win over Roxbury Community College. 

CM took an early lead and cruised into halftime with a 41-38 lead.  The Mustangs played 12 players in an attempt to get kids some much needed time on the court.  Road fatigue haunted the Tigers early in the third period as the Mustangs took off running and build the lead to 18 points.  Good bench play by Jaeden Henderson (3-6 shooting-8 points) sparked the squad with a 12-3 run.

The Tigers would not quit.  Late in the contest, and after a Kevin Agyemang three (11-22 shooting—28 points) the visitors cut the lead to 5 points.  However, after two Chery free throws and Corey David free throws, the home team sealed the win.

Malik Farley played his typical hard-nosed game registering a double double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.   Josh Chery provide again why he is one of the top players in the USCAA registering 31 points, 4 rebounds and added 4 assists.  Jordan Dudgeon hit for 11 points and the remaining starter, Marshall Evans recorded 7 rebounds.

The squad prepare for the upcoming encounter with rival SMCC Tuesday at Kirk Hall.  Game time is 8pm.
