Second Half Push Not Enough As Moose Come Up Short At Rivier

Nashua, NH - In a game that mirrored the one played just 24 hours prior the second half push of the Moose wasn't enough to pull out an upset win at Rivier. Much like at NHTI the Moose saw their shooting touch come on strong in the second half as they finished shooting 54.3% from the field and an outstanding 58.8% from behind the three point arch in Sunday afternoons second half showdown at Rivier. The Moose trailed by 7 points with 45 seconds to play. Jovan Sisovic (Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia) hit a huge 3-point field goal to bring the Moose to within 4. After Rivier came back down the court and hit two big foul shots it was Elijah Smith (Odessa, TX) who hit another big 3-point field goal to pull the Moose within three points with 16 seconds remaining. Again two important free throws for Rivier put the Moose down by 5 points when Jovan Sisovic hit yet another huge 3-point field goal to pull the game to within two points with 10 seconds to play. After more Rivier foul shots Israel Brown (Ridgewood, NJ) was able to back a layup to put the Moose back within 2 points with 3 seconds remaining but that is as close at it would get as Rivier walked away with a 78-81 victory.

The Moose were led in scoring by Jovan Sisovic (Novi Sad, Republic of Serbia) who shot 5-9 from the field and an effective 4-7 from beyond the arc for a grand total of 15 points to go along with 3 rebounds. Trevor Beals (Lyman, ME) led the Moose in rebounds with 7 (three of which were offensive rebounds). Omar Rolle (Miami, FL) led the Moose in steals with four on the defensive side of the ball.

The Moose are back in action with some home cooking on Wednesday November 17th when they play host to Great Bay Community College which will have a 8pm tip off at the Augusta Civic Center.
