SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) men's soccer team was shutout 6-0 by the visitors from the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK) at Wainwright Recreation Complex on Thursday, Sept. 2.

The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division 1  Bengals scored at 3:23 off the foot of Adil Iggoute and then again by Iggoute at 15:55. UMFK would lead by a score of 5-0 before the break—Leon Brandon netting two.

The Bengals added one more in the second half to earn the victory in convincing fashion.

Sophomore SMCC goalkeeper Joshua Nagle (Biddeford, Maine) totaled three saves on nine shots-on-goal spanning 90 minutes of work.

Head Coach Brian Dougher commented, "This experience will help build our program— the level of competitiveness that was displayed by Fort Kent will serve as a bench mark for us as we continue to progress this season."

The action continues when the SeaWolves travel to Northern Essex Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 8 for a 4:00 p.m. kick off.
