Mustangs sweep NY road trip in convincing fashion

Paul Smith's, NY - Right out of the gate, Luna Love continued her hot shooting helping the Mustangs race out to a 18-7 first quarter lead. The brutal pace and hot shooting would continue as the Mustangs trounced the Bobcats 86-30 in YSCC action.

Love finished with a career-high 20 points while also recording 5 assists and 4 steals. Leata Te Nana-Williams scored in double figures for the third straight game and in five out of the last six. She tied a career-high with 15 points, while also recording a career-high 7 steals.

Both Leata and Myah Nicolas played exceptionally stingy defense on the conference's leading scorer, Jordan Louis. They held Louis to just 8 points on 2 of 11 shooting, while forcing her into 8 turnovers before fouling out. Nicolas also found the scoring column to the tone of 11 points.

Newcomer, Avery Herrick, scored 10 points in only her second game, while Sarah Poli narrowly missed her second straight double-double, finishing with 9 points and 9 rebounds. Destiny Mora Lopez, finished with a game-high 16 rebounds and 4 blocks.

In a complete team effort, every player for the Mustangs scored, recorded at least 3 rebounds, and also notched a steal and an assist.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 18-2 overall. They will be back in action on Wednesday when they host the Moose of UMaine Augusta at 6:00pm. Fans are permitted.
