Lawrence, MA - In game one of the doubleheader against Connecticut College, the Mustangs came out firing on all cylinders by winning via mercy rule 11-1.
Corey Armstrong led the attack with a towering three run homerun in the second inning. Jimmy Reed was 3-3 with a double and four stolen bases. Caleb Valliere and Cody Allen were also repeat hitters.
Will Bean got the win on the mound giving up two hits while striking out nine.
In game two, the Mustang bats went silent against Babson College falling 7-2.
The Mustangs tried to rally in the top of the seventh inning as Brett Hunt led off with a double. He then scored on a Will Eaton single. Cole Brown reached on a error allowing Eaton to score the second Mustang run.
Reed, Kenyon Pillsbury, Hunt and Eaton had hits for the Mustangs.
Reid Cote, Wyatt Lufkin and Dennis Amore shared the pitching duties.
The Mustangs are now 3-1 in NECBA play and 9-4 overall. They host SMCC on Monday night at 6:00 in Auburn.
