Game 2: L 11-3

Despite a stronger start in game 2, the Mustangs couldn't maintain their momentum against the Seawolves. After jumping to a 2-1 lead in the first and tying 2-2 in the 3rd inning, they trailed 6-3 after 3 innings and couldn't generate more offense, ultimately losing 11-3.

Brooke Gero pitched for the Mustangs, allowing nine hits, striking out three, and walking one in 5 innings. Lauryn Wood entered the game in the 6th inning, allowing 2 hits, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs.

Kiera Greene led the Mustangs with 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases, while Logan Arsenault topped the team with 2 hits. Sam Withee, Miah Gallan, Olivia Gallan, and Olivia Scott also contributed hits. The Mustangs totaled 5 stolen bases, with Greene, Allee Wellman, Logan Arsenault, and Miah Gallan each securing one.

The Mustangs committed 2 errors.

Jada Case earned the win for the Seawolves.

Mustangs Head Coach Bruce Robertson commented, "Just when I think we are getting close to putting it together, we take a step back. We seem to find a way to overthink things, which costs us at critical times in the game. We were better with errors in the stat column today but made more mental mistakes that added runs, and the other team took advantage of that. We have to get back to basics, focus on making one play at a time, and not think ahead. I believe that will help us break things down. We have an off day Thursday, but then we play 6 games in 3 days, so I'm hopeful we can put it together going down the stretch."

Next, the Mustangs will travel to NHTI on Friday, followed by home games on Saturday and Sunday against Bay Path University and Roxbury CC.
