BRIDGTON, Maine—The Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) baseball team got even with Bridgton Academy in its second meeting of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 29, taking down the Wolverines by a score of 10-5.

In a game that finished in six innings, first-years Kalin Marum (Port Kembla, Australia) and Alex Grabowski (Plainville, Conn.) split the duty on the hill—Marum going three innings to earn the victory.

First-year Cameren Cousins (Wells, Maine) lifted a homerun to left field to get things going for the SMCC offense in the first before the Wolverines came back to even the score in the bottom half. The SeaWolves crossed four in the third inning to take a commanding three-run lead, and then scored in every inning to follow to combat a late-game comeback from the opposition.

Cousins finished with three hits in four trips to the plate, totaling two runs and two RBI. First-year Joseph Townsend (Scarborough, Maine) and Andrew Martin (Dracut, Mass.) combined for four hits and four RBI in the contest.

The SeaWolves sport a 6-3 record overall.

The action continues when SMCC travels to the University of Maine at Farmington (NCAA Div. 3) for an exhibition doubleheader on Saturday, Oct. 2. Game times are slated for 12:00/2:00 p.m.
